My mission as an art dealer
The
French art world is currently undergoing a complete renewal.
Whereas France led the world art market in the 19th century until the middle of the 20th century, it currently represents only 7% of transactions and is in fourth place worldwide. The arrival of the Swiss international art fair Paris + Art Basel, Art Paris and perhaps the return of a renewed FIAC (Foire internationale d'art contemporain), all this stimulates the Paris market. My mission is to:
-
Seize the opportunities offered by this emulation by injecting French genius.
-
To invigorate the market by arousing the French public's passion for the arts, and more specifically their love of contemporary figurative or abstract painting.
-
To make sure that it is at the top of the public's scale of values.
-
To promote artists, especially living artists. I want the French market to attract and support talented foreign painters again.
-
To revive artistic relations between European countries, a Europe that goes from "Dunkirk to the Urals" as Charles de Gaulle defined it.
I envisage these relations in a fertile dialogue with other countries and other civilisations. In this way, Paris can once again become the artistic reference,
"The place to be". A basic principle is to protect artists from the media so that they don't get burned.
My action
Anonymous
Armand Bazin (ca. 1860)
I specialise in modern and contemporary art, particularly paintings, without forgetting historical painting. My activity is threefold:
-
Advice and assistance to buyers
-
The promotion of artists
-
Conferences
To achieve the first objective, I put collectors and potential buyers in touch with either emergent or wellknown artists or Art galleries, and vice versa.
These contacts are the result of a systematic observation of my clients' tastes and an in-depth analysis of the national and international art market. This way, I can advise them and even help them to form their taste.
Secondly, I promote the sale of paintings, sculptures and drawings through exhibitions in temporary galleries. I organise these exhibitions with private evenings in partnership with company directors who want to develop customer loyalty.
I also aim to participate in international art fairs, notably in Paris, London and Basel. I manage the relationship with the media for the artists.
Thirdly, I give lectures in my Art Salon to a confidential audience. In addition, I give lectures and exhibitions on an artist or on a theme in large law firms, notaries or large companies. I develop and maintain my address book. But I can only advise on what I like and discretion underlies my work.
